Creating the Future of the Nation Through Education

The world will our children live in changing four times faster than our schools (Willard Daggett).
• The only way to predict the future is to create it. (Alan Kay)

Two sage advice above illustrates how quickly the change happens and no one could have predicted it. One way to predict the future is to control the future by creating it's own future.True future fraught with uncertainty. No one can predict the future are valid. Surprises are always beyond calculation appeared in human reason.

Create a better future is everyone's goal. Therefore every person to learn, as an embodiment of the ideals of effort. School as a place to learn real tough task to realize the ideals of the learner as a human pemanusian effort. This means that schools must be futuristic and not selling something that has been stale or something that is not useful for the future because it was obsolete.
Schools are not able to deliver the aspirations of learners is a failing school. Such schools should be self-conscious to take immediate steps revolutionize the institution or disperse. If one of the two steps are not taken mean the same thing failed to print in bulk generation and sustainable.

Revolutionize the institution as well as the design of future schools. Schools must be able to leave the traditional education system that has expired. Traditional schools are still a lot of our practice is a learning model of the 19th century which has several shortcomings, among others; loss with real-world context, students' lack of respect for pluralism, and centered on the teacher. Even from the facility, the school institution in the country is still far from minimum service standards set by the government's education, especially private schools periphery.

Schools of the Future concept Designing the future of the school includes several aspects that include what should be taught in school and learning objectives in schools. There are five main theories about what should be taught in schools (Dryden and Vos, 1999). First; essentialism, contains the core subjects, required for a good education. Essentialism is given to early childhood. Material relating to the cultivation of values to build character. Second, ensiklopedisme, covering basic subjects with a wider coverage and open to everyone. Third, model-based early education sense, this model was first proposed by Aristotle and developed by Itard, Seguin, Rousseau, Pestallozi, Froebel, and Montessori. Fourth, movement-oriented pragmatic in children. Pragmatic movement can ditelusuru of John Dewey's concept of the Experiencing and Learning. Fifth, common sense approach (common sense), the approach is to use common sense and critical dogma. Common sense approach using the principles filsafatai covering three main domains that includes ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Implementation of the five theories about what should be taught in the school leaving age and the learning of the periodization of the systematic, unbroken and not overlap.

The second aspect is the learning objective, this goal is highly dependent on the vision and mission of the education institution. Although this study should have three goals (Dryden and Vos, 1999):

1, To study the skills and knowledge of specific learning materials.
2. Develop common conceptual skills.
3. Develop personal skills and attitudes that can easily be used in all our actions. Starategis plan

Strategic plan into action plan the education in building a future.

1.'School of thought' is designed to be a learning center for sustainability (sustainable).

2. Provided 2.5 million dollars for each school for the procurement of information technology. Indonesia has been rolled out in countries Jardiknas just have not all ready to welcome the policy.

3. One computer at school for every two students in five years.

4. Creative thinking as part of a new curriculum to achieve keunnguulan in mathematics and science.

5. The curriculum is also intended to build pride in the achievements.

6. Innovations that are 'top down' abandoned. Indonesia has been developed in the MBS (School-Based Management), only the implementation is relatively less.

7. The schools are grouped to disseminate best practices. In this context can be designed madrasah or a satellite school in charge of improving the quality of madrasah which it is responsible.

Examples of the above master plan may be a reference in the development of Islamic institutions in which we manage. Of the master plan of each institution to design future studies. Without a master plan and action plan the future of the school and its products will out of date. And the end is the distrust of the school institution. Schools must transform ourselves into a good direction if not the school is blown dead as Neil Postman will come true.
